Course Description Study and practice in developing interactive media for the web utilizing timelines and basic scripting. Students learn introductory skills using industry standard software to create, edit, and process digital media content for use in specific applications such as interactive websites, nonlinear, and linear productions.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Associate common features of media development software for increased productivity.
- In projects the students create, assess the UI (user interface) strengths and weaknesses of design and functionality.
- Understand the process of pre-production, production, post-production, and maintenance of an interactive project.
- Recognize the importance of collaboration and revision when developing an outcomes-based project.
- Demonstrate script-based interactive animation sequences using software with a frame-based timeline.
- Demonstrate the ability to import, compress, and synchronize sound with images.
- Recognize the relationship of user interface design, graphics, animation, and audio to successfully communicate concepts, values, and ideas.
